Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald Family Room extends the mission of Ronald McDonald House within the walls of Children's Hospital - Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg.

Opening in spring 2010, the space will be a place of respite and comfort for families with children who are patients at Children's Hospital and need to take a break from the hospital environment. The Family Room will feature a large living space with a TV, children's play area, laundry facilities, computer and internet access, bathroom with a shower, and a full kitchen. To date, the 3000 square foot Family Room in Winnipeg is the largest in the world.

The Family Room will be open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. with sleeping rooms available for families of critically ill children. The room will be staffed Monday through Friday during regular office hours but will rely solely on volunteers for evening and weekend shifts.

Located within Children's Hospital just a short walk from PICU and NICU, the Ronald McDonald Family Room is one more way we're helping to keep families together.
