Guests are not admitted based on financial need, rather based on the medical condition of the child as it falls under our priority system and the distance of the family's home from the city.
Siblings may accompany the parents/guardians of the ill child. Only one room per family is allocated and the cost is $10 per night. Anyone under 18 cannot be left alone in the House and parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. Ronald McDonald House Winnipeg does not provide child minding services.
Once determined that the family meets the admission requirements, a medical referral form must be filled in and faxed to the House by a social worker, doctor, or nurse. The required form can be downloaded below or obtained by contacting Kerry at 204.774.4777 or kerry@rmh.mb.ca.

We require the following information for a referral:
Families are asked to confirm their stay one day prior to arrival. Check in time is between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. on Sundays). Third party billing must be arranged by the agency in writing prior to the family's arrival.
Families with children under 18 receiving treatment for cancer, including children who have completed their cancer treatment.
Families with children under 18 with a life-threatening illness or disease other than cancer - typically children who are in the pediatric or neonatal intensive care units.
Families with a child under 18 with a potentially life-threatening disease, illness, or disorder, including high-risk pregnancies. Typically these children are in the hospital but not in intensive care. Pregnant mothers must be residing at Ronald McDonald House and if she becomes a patient during the pregnancy her family is not eligible to stay at the House.
Families with a child under 18 requiring medical appointments or procedures on an out-patient basis.
